Panduan rekayasa ini membahas NIR-Control Materials for PVB and EVA Interlayers, termasuk batas proses, bukti validasi, dan kebutuhan kualifikasinya.

Jawaban singkat
Antimony Tin Oxide (ATO) and Cesium Tungsten Bronze (Cs0.33WO3) are the material routes. Qualify the complete laminated construction. ATO or Cs0.33WO3 must remain compatible with the exact PVB or EVA formulation, lamination cycle, glass interface, and edge environment while meeting the declared optical target.
Problem
A stable dispersion can still produce haze, color nonuniformity, bubbles, clouding, adhesion loss, delamination, or edge failure after it enters an interlayer and passes through lamination. PVB and EVA are separate formulation systems and require separate evidence.
Mekanisme
Material identity, concentration, and aggregate state shape the visible-to-NIR spectrum. Interlayer polarity, plasticizer or additive package, moisture, glass preparation, lamination history, and edge exposure control dispersion compatibility and interfacial durability.
Tradeoff
More NIR-active material or a thicker active path may improve attenuation while increasing tint, haze, absorbed heat, viscosity, or interface risk. Moving the active material to a coating can isolate it from the interlayer but adds another adhesion and durability boundary.
Material Strategy
Use ATO when a conductive-oxide role is relevant and Cs0.33WO3 as a distinct NIR-absorber route. Select a supplied form compatible with the exact PVB or EVA system and compare complete laminates at matched glass, interlayer thickness, and lamination conditions. See ATO vs Cs0.33WO3 for the material-role decision.
Recommended Architectures
- Active PVB or EVA interlayer: disperse the NIR material in the interlayer and qualify rheology, moisture, lamination, and adhesion.
- Functional coating beside a clear interlayer: isolate the active chemistry while validating both coating interfaces.
- Protected multilayer laminate: place the active layer within the laminate when external abrasion or weathering exposure is unacceptable.
Measurement & Validation
Record glass construction, interlayer chemistry and thickness, material loading, moisture conditioning, lamination cycle, and edge preparation. Measure the full relevant spectrum, haze, color, optical uniformity, visual defects, adhesion, and delamination on complete laminates. Include the temperature, humidity, light, and edge-exposure sequence required by the intended market; ISO 12543-4:2021 can inform laminated-glass durability planning where applicable.
